HEALING OF YOUR BLOOD VESSELS - GOD"S MECHANISM

Image
HEALING OF YOUR BLOOD VESSELS   Hey, ever got a hurt and scared of that red fluid coming out of your body. It is quite fascinating to know that the same hurt or bruise turns into a reddish - brown clot after few hours or sometimes days. Well, that's an interesting mechanism that works out here... Blood clotting or blood coagulation is an extremely important process that works out in our body when our blood vessel is injured. It helps in the prevention of excess flow of blood outside the body and is natural mechanism to heal injuries. As soon as there is a damage in our blood vessels, a mechanism comes into function. Platelets as we know are an important component of blood. Whenever there is an injury, blood clotting factors activates the platelets which arrive at the healing site. These blood clotting factors convert prothrombin to active thrombin which in turn converts fibrinogen, a soluble compound into fibrin, an insoluble compound. This fibrin develops strands over the wound hi...

Types of Black Holes

Image
TYPES OF BLACK HOLES | Whyfascintaions Types of Black Holes  Knowing so much about black holes, now let us learn something about the types of black holes. Till date, scientists have identified majorly 3 kinds of black holes: 1.)Stellar Black Holes  2.) Supermassive Black Holes 3.) Intermediate Black Holes  Stellar Black Holes  Black holes are formed when a star runs out of fuel and collapses. For a small star ( small in relative to other stars, but small stars have mass 3 times that of sun!!) After exhaustion of fuel l, it turns into a white dwarf but when a larger star collapses, it for.s a stellar black hole, which has immense gravity pulling the dust and other bodies towards it and thus growing in size... Supermassive Black Holes These are about million times massive than sun although roughly same in diameter. They are even more powerful and dominant. The following can be formed to the merge of numerous small blacks. They can also be formed due to large gas clouds...

STRUCTURE OF A BLACK HOLE

Image
STRUCTURE OF BLACK HOLE  STRUCTURE OF A BLACK HOLE .. Talking more about black holes, one of the most concerned questions is, how does a black hole look like, in scientific terms, what is the structure of a black hole? Black hole isn't an object that is visible, scientists predict the presence of a black hole with special instruments which detect their effect. A black hole majorly consists of 2 regions.. 1.) singularity - the massive gravitational center and 2.) event horizon - in layman's language- the boundary of  a black hole. EVENT HORIZON It is the area or an imaginary sphere where the escape velocity becomes equal to the speed of light. Escape velocity is defined as the minimum velocity required for a body to escape the gravitational pull. As mentioned earlier, the black hole is something where massive amount of mass is concentrated in relatively smaller region resulting in a really strong gravitational pull. So it's the line or the boundary where if any body...

HOW ARE BLACK HOLES FORMED?

Image
HOW ARE BLACK HOLES FORMED| WHYFASCINATIONS  HOW ARE BLACK HOLES FORMED?? It is the bitter truth of life that each one of us has to die one day, and so do the stars. The black holes are formed as a result of the death of a star.  HOW DO STARS DIE? Well, Sun is a star, we all know, and inside the sun numerous reactions take place. The nuclei of two atoms fuse to form a single atom. Talking specifically, two H atoms fuse to form 1 He atom. And when the fuel, that is the driving force finishes, the star has died. BLACK HOLE FORMATION  When a massive star dies, it collapses resulting in concentration of mass in a point-sized area. The following results in huge DENSITY and A GREATER GRAVITATIONAL FORCE, thus gaining the ability to absorb anything, even light..  The surroundings of the star disintegrate and that's a black hole. Numerous black holes are present in Solar system.  The closest confirmed  black hole  to Earth lies in a triple-star  system ...

What is A Black Hole?..

Image
WHAT IS A BLACK HOLE?  Black Holes.. Hey, ever thought about the mass of a mountain or even a massive object. Just imagine if this mass resides in a really small thing, maybe as small as an atom.. Well, our nature provides us with the same and that is what is called as a black hole. Black holes are regions where a huge mass resides in a relatively compact space resulting in immense gravity that even Light cannot escape. Imagine a object that can stop light with a speed of 3*10^8 m/s.  And that's possible with a black hole. Well, our basic knowledge tells us that we see objects when either they reflect light or emit light. But black holes, as the name suggests absorbs all the light and reflects none making them invisible. Thanks to our hardworking scientists who invented some special space instruments to detect black holes. This is just a basic information on black holes, but curious people, don't worry, we will again come with something new...  Enough to fascinate you!!

Why de we dream?

Image
Why do we dream? Dreams. Do you see dreams? Sometimes they make us happy, some dreams make us afraid and some nervous. But do you know why we dream? What is a dream? Dream is something which includes feelings, pictures, surprises and a lot more. They usually happen in different stages of sleep. Dreams mainly take place in the rapid –eye movement which is also called as REM stage. Sometimes they may be seen at other stages also. More times, people remember the dream when they are awake in the REM phase. Why we dream? Dreams are based on our recent discussions, activities and other matters. What we think before sleeping, brain makes a dream of that. If we think of a competition, we dream about that. So, simply dreams occur because of our thoughts. If we have negative thoughts then we will have a negative dream and if we have a positive thought, we will have a positive dream. Facts 1.     People have idea that everyone dreams between 3-6 times every nigh...

How do flies walk on the ceiling

Image
HOW DO FLIES WALK ON THE CEILING?   How do flies walk on the ceiling? As in our everyday lives we come across with a lot of questions about nature. Have you ever wondered why only flies and not human beings can walk on the ceiling.. When flies walk on the ceiling upside down they should have a perfect and careful balance of adherence (sticking) and mass(weight) and also some special tools that can help them in trekking and go opposite to gravity. Not just fly there are many insects that go and walk on the ceiling. When any insect walk on the ceiling then it leaves a stick substance and makes the ceiling a little bit sticky thing. They have two footpads that give them plenty surface area. These pads called pulvilli has some tiny hairs called setae equipped and have spatula like tips. Because of these parts the flies could walk on the ceiling. The sticky substance helps the fly to stick to the ceiling and move that they could not fall down and the hairs helps to grip the surfac...

Why can we only see the Sun in daytime but not other stars?

Image
WHY DO WE SEE ONLY SUN IN DAYTIME, NOT STARS   Why can we only see the Sun in daytime but not other stars? In daytime the most observable and brightest thing in the sky is sun. There are many billions of stars but do you know why we are able to see only one star that is the Sun but not others. To know read this passage. What is a star? Stars are giant hot balls made up of hydrogen and helium. They are boiling because of a process named Nuclear Fusion in which stars burn hydrogen and helium gas. The Sun is also a star. It is the closest star from the Earth. So, it is seen the largest in contrast to other stars. Why only Sun is visible during daytime but not other stars? The Sun is a very shiny star. During day we see the Sun glowing and it is so bright that it stops other star’s light to be seen. When it’s evening, the Sun has been set and we see a night sky. So, the Sun’s bright light is not there and we are able to see other stars. Stars are both in day and night but wit...

Why don’t birds get electrocuted when landed on electric wires?

Image
WHY DON'T BIRDS GET ELECTROCUTED   Why don’t birds get electrocuted when landed on electric wires? Birds are usually seen landed on the electrical wires. And the fact is that that high voltage doesn’t harm them, Do they have some sort of friendship..let’s find out. Electricity and electric current can be very dangerous and harm any animal or us very badly so why birds do not get electrocuted. In reality the electricity is very insolent and lazy and always wants the shortest path to flow. In physics subject it is said that electricity flows from highest potential to the lowest potential. It can be compared as throwing something as that thing always falls down and never goes up. A wire has two ends and one end of the wire has different potential from the other end and the electricity flows in it. The current flows from the easiest path with minimum possible resistance, the bird is made up of cells and tissues offers higher resistance than wire so current prefers the wire inst...

Why Moon Appears Shiny in night

Image
WHY MOON APPEARS SHINY IN THE NIGHT?   Does the moon have its own light or not? At night we all see a shiny round thing in the sky which appears in different shapes every day. Do you know what it is? It is the moon. The moon is the shiniest thing in the sky during night and many people think that it has its own light. But it is wrong. The moon does not have its own light like the bulb, lamp or sun. From all the celestial bodies in the space there are only the stars which have their own light. Even planets also do not have their own light. From the earth our eyes perceive that moon must have its own light but the reality is quite different. The rays of sun that fall on moon undergo reflection and when the reflected rays reach our eyes we are able to see the moon and perceive that moon is shining. The same is responsible for the different shapes that the moon acquires. The phases of moon are in being due to variation of the area on which the light is falling. The area of the ...

RAINBOW FORMATION

Image
FORMATION OF A RAINBOW                                                             The amazing combination of sun and rain results in a rainbow. But do you know why the rainbow forms? What is a rainbow? Rainbow is a colorful band which looks like a multicolored semi circle and is always seen in opposite to the direction of the sun. Rainbow can be also seen as a full circle. If we look from the airplane, it is seen as a full circle but from ground a half circle (as the horizon hides the rest). It is a ray of light in water droplets. It has seven colors which includes violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. The acronym for these seven colors is VIBGYOR. Formation of rainbow A rainbow appears because of majorly three phenomenon i.e. total internal reflection, refraction, dispersion. A rainbow is seen after rain because it...

HOW MUCH DOES THE SKY WEIGH

Image
HOW MUCH DOES THE SKY WEIGH?   How much the sky weigh? Sky weight? A silly question.. Right? How could the sky weigh anything.. But that’s wrong. Sky is made of atmosphere and the atmosphere contains water vapors. The Karman line which is 60 miles above the Earth’s surface is a partition between Earth’s atmosphere and the edge of the space. So, we have to measure the weight of this. Atmospheric pressure is 15 pounds every square inch. So, it would be 60,217,344,000 pounds every square mile. Total surface area of Earth is 201,061,929 square miles. So, when we multiply them we get to know that Earth’s atmosphere weighs 12,107,415,343,900,000,000 pounds. Now water vapor is 0.04% of our atmosphere. This significant that sky holds 4,824,146,196 gallons of water. Eight pounds every gallon is 38,593,169,564 pounds. When we add all this the answer comes to be that the sky weighs 12,107,415,382,493,169,564 pounds.   This concludes that the sky weighs so much but we think it w...

HOW DO AEROPLANES STAY IN THE AIR

Image
How do aeroplanes stay in air?|whyfascinations   How do aero planes stay in the air? Just look at the birds that fly high in the sky. And the human beings have made it possible through airplanes, helicopters etc. But have you ever thought that how the airplanes stay in air.   The reason is that there are 4 types of forces that act with the airplane when it is in the air and the 4 forces are thrust, gravity, lift and drag. So from these forces the lift force helps the airplanes to move upwards and stay in the air. So to do it the lift force should be more the force of the gravity or else the airplane wouldn’t fly.. Talking about the thrust force, it should be more than the drag force (force by the moving food restricting the airplane to go forward) that helps the airplane to move in the air frontwards and other directions. This force is made by the jet engine. So to lift the airplane and increase the lift force the airplane has wings which are curved from the top and fl...

HOW DO PAINKILLERS KNOW WHERE PAIN IS

Image
HOW DO PAINKILLERS KNOW WHERE THE PAIN IS?   How do painkillers work? Whenever I get hurt and feel pain, my mom gives me painkillers but the question that comes in my mind is that how do painkillers know where the pain is? Now when I know this answer I am here to share with you. First you should know the definition of pain. Pain is an uncomfortable feeling in any of the body parts and painkillers are medicines which give us relief from pain. If you are working with a needle and it gets stuck in your finger, you remove your finger because you feel the pain. When we hurt our self a chemical named Prostaglandin is released. Then nerve endings give the message to your brain or in terms of tech – a sort of notification that where the pain is and how much it hurts. When we swallow painkillers, we feel well. It is because the pain killer stops the nerve endings to give a message to the brain. We do not know it is paining and think we are well now. Painkillers don’t let us know it’...
